On this page you will find all of my Podcasts, these have been created with the love of sharing knowledge and information. I have done it in the spirit of sharing best practise.

I truly hope that you will enjoy listening to them.

Episode 1 – Walking into a room with confidence

In the first episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan explores a situation many of us recognise, walking into a room and instantly feeling the pressure. Whether it’s a meeting, interview, networking event, or even a classroom, the mindset we carry into the room often shapes the outcome before we even begin.

Allan shares practical ways to reframe these moments by replacing judgement with curiosity and developing quiet confidence. From simple body language and breathing techniques to the well-known insight from Henry Ford, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right”, this episode helps you turn nerves into presence and step forward with greater confidence.

Episode 2 – What if failure was feedback in disguise?

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, we dive into the messy, challenging experience of failure. The truth is, we all face setbacks, but what truly matters is how we respond. Do we get curious, ask why things didn’t go to plan, and use it as a chance to grow, or do we let it hold us back?

Allan dives into how our mindset shapes not only how we handle failure, but how we move forward. Whether you’re recovering from a personal disappointment or a professional misstep, this conversation will help you reframe failure as feedback, not the opposite of success. And if you’ve recently received exam results that weren’t what you expected, don’t worry, there are always options ahead.

Episode 3 – Listening with confidence

What if the key to better conversations, stronger relationships and braver leadership isn’t about what you say, but how you listen? In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan dives into Confident Listening, the kind of listening that doesn’t interrupt, doesn’t try to fix, and doesn’t need to be right.

Allan breaks down the levels of listening, shares practical active listening techniques and shows how listening to understand, not just reply, can transform your communication. Whether you lead, coach, or simply want to connect better, this episode will help you be the person others feel truly heard by. Less ego, more empathy. Let’s turn up the volume on how we listen.

Episode 4 – Imposter feelings

Welcome once again to Listen, Learn, Grow. In this episode, Allan open’s up about something many of us face but rarely discuss, the quiet, creeping feeling of imposter syndrome. It doesn’t always shout; sometimes it whispers, “Why hasn’t anyone noticed?” or “Maybe I’m not supposed to be here.”

He shares his personal journey of launching a business and podcast, seeking connection and clients, but often hearing silence. Sharing how he questioned his worth, but realised he was in it for the long haul, to share knowledge, to serve and to grow. If just one person listens and learns, that’s a success. If you’ve ever felt unseen or unsure, this one is for you and you are not alone, you absolutely belong.

Episode 5 – Kindness as a daily practise

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan reclaims the power of kindness, a force often seen as soft but actually one of the most powerful in daily life. He moves beyond clichés, showing how small acts like a simple greeting, mindful micro-behaviours, or not taking things personally, can shift how we show up.

Allan also addresses what to do when others aren’t kind, how to stay within your circle of influence and why being kind to yourself can completely transform how you lead and interact. It’s not about being everyone’s favourite; it’s about staying grounded, intentional and kind, even when it’s hard.

Episode 6 – The voice that shapes our day

The way we talk to ourselves can shape our entire day. That quiet voice in your head, whether it cheers you on or quietly criticises, has more power than we often realize.

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan dives deeper into the themes of mindset and the power of words, focusing on how self-talk affects our thoughts, emotions, and actions. He explains how self-talk can be both helpful and harmful, and offers practical tools like journaling and the “why” technique, questioning your negative thoughts until you find their root. By learning to challenge your inner critic, you don’t silence it, you harness it and that small shift can change how you experience your day.

Episode 7 – Value, voice and truly being seen

Feeling unheard or undervalued can affect every part of our lives, at work, in school, in friendships, family and even our free time. These experiences often sit side by side, subtly shaping our confidence, mood and how we show up in the world.

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan explores both sides, what happens when others don’t listen and what happens when you don’t feel valued. Most importantly, he shows how understanding your own “why” is crucial to changing these moments. Allan breaks down the difference between being heard and being truly listened to, what feeling valued means for you, how to express your needs clearly and how to protect your wellbeing when things don’t change. This isn’t about blame; it’s about self-awareness, clarity, and owning your voice and value. Because you deserve to

Episode 8 – The weight of expectations

Expectations are everywhere, some come from others and some we quietly create ourselves. Over time, these expectations shape how we think, act and measure our worth, often without us even noticing.

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan examines the weight of expectations and how those we set for ourselves differ from those we feel from others. He explores how expectations can slowly become pressure, trapping us in cycles of trying to meet them and how this impacts our confidence, energy, and wellbeing.

Allan invites you to pause and reflect on the “why” behind these expectations, whose they are, why you feel driven to meet them and whether they still serve you. You’ll also discover practical steps to recognise unhelpful expectations, set new boundaries, and redefine success on your own terms. Because sometimes, the most powerful step is letting go of what was never yours to carry.

Episode 9 – When messages miss the mark

Miscommunication and misunderstandings happen every single day. At work, at home, in friendships, everywhere. But what really matters isn’t whether it happens; it’s how we respond next.

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, we look at misunderstandings from both sides. When someone misunderstands you, and when you realise you were the one who misheard or didn’t explain clearly. We explore why messages get lost, how assumptions creep in and how quickly things can escalate when we don’t pause to check what was really meant.

Most importantly, I share practical steps to pause instead of react, clarify without blame, own your part when you get it wrong and repair trust in the conversation. This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being honest, reflective and willing to make things right when we do get it wrong.

Episode 10 – Finish what we start

New Year’s resolutions often come with a burst of energy and big intentions, but for many of us, that momentum fades. In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, we explore goal setting in the real world. Those goals we carry beyond January, through starts, pauses, doubts and sometimes quiet endings.

Allan will reflect on why New Year’s resolutions often fade, how goals lose meaning when motivation dips and the difference between starting strong and staying consistent.

I also share more about my first book, which releases on January 19th, why I wrote it, what it’s really about and how finishing it taught me about commitment, self-doubt and follow-through. Whether you’re setting intentions, revisiting goals, or trying to finish something on your mind, this episode is an invitation to pause, reflect and keep going.

Episode 11 – Motivation, what gets you out of bed in the morning?

Motivation is something we all talk about, but it’s often misunderstood. In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, we dig into what motivation really is and where it comes from and why it’s not just about willpower or pushing harder.

We explore self-motivation, why it matters, what gets in the way and how to reconnect with it when energy is low. Then we widen the lens to look at motivating others, why understanding what drives them is crucial and how support, not force, is what sustains motivation.

Whether at work, at home, or in everyday life, motivation thrives when people feel understood, supported, and trusted. Throughout the episode, I invite you to reflect on what motivates you right now, how you speak to yourself when motivation dips and how you support (or unintentionally drain) motivation in others.

Episode 12 – When learning turns into behaviour change (Chris’s story)

In this episode of Listen, Learn, Grow, Allan is joined by Chris, a Network Performance and Integration Manager with LCRCA, and the very first guest on the podcast. Chris shares his real journey of behavioural change after a leadership development programme, moving beyond just understanding concepts to intentionally applying them every day.

Together, they discuss the challenges of changing behaviour, leading yourself before leading others and the profound impact this has had on Chris and his team. Chris also opens up about a later-in-life ADHD diagnosis, how it helped him understand his reactions, build supportive systems and see the strengths in thinking differently. This is an honest, real look at what it takes for learning to truly stick.
